Rewriting the Details
Did I ever tell you about when I worked at the cable company? When we first started doing installs for modems, a lot of people downloaded Zone Alarm. It’s a great product, I had it too. The problem was the firewall would kick in and block people’s modems in the beginning, because we were still learning we had to adjust it.
Anyway, when people would go to remove Zone Alarm, instead of just adjust the settings, the old software we were using and ZA’s stuff, things would rewrite in the registry! Oy, what a mess! It was one of those things we had to go through until we figured it out. Once the installers realized how to adjust it (remember this was new technology back then), it wasn’t a problem anymore! I just saw an ad for Zone Alarm (which by the way is good software), and it reminded me of that!
