Hawaii Dreams

August 31, 2007 on 10:18 pm | In Life and Leisure | No Comments

If you’re looking for Hawaii Vacation Rentals, check out GebhartProperties.com. They offer accommodations both big and small. Hawaii is a tropical paradise. I know because my son keeps reminding me it was the coolest place he’s ever been. He wants to go back, and he wants me to take him. Maybe at some point I’ll get there, but this year we’re heading back to Florida.

You should see the pictures of the Kolea Villas. They look extraordinary. I have to keep looking at the pictures, because it’s the only way I’ll talk myself into getting there. I’ve always wanted to visit Hawaii, and never expected to be afraid to fly later in life. I used to love flying, but a few years ago it changed. I’d love to see Hawaii in my lifetime, and if I go, I want to stay at a gorgeous place like the resorts and accommodations at Gebhart Properties!

Scammers Suck

August 31, 2007 on 10:12 pm | In Life and Leisure | No Comments

Did I mention I got 4 phishing emails this week? I sent them to their companies…so they could check them out. I hate those things. I got them from people claiming to be Amazon, Ebay, Bank of America and Paypal. It’s scary how real some of them look. I always worry about people who are still newer to the internet. When I first came online about 10 years ago, I wouldn’t have known not to trust them. Scammers are counting on that. I hate that people do things like that, it’s just wrong. I don’t know how they sleep at night, knowing they are stealing from people. :(

The consumers need to be cautious of the various scammers offering the home theater systems or one of the most expensive models of the latest flat panel tv just for an email registration. Many of them pretend to be from the plasma tv giant Smasung and offer as fascinatingly as to promise giving away the commercially available lcd tv for an email recommendation to a friend.

Tension in Back and Jaw

August 31, 2007 on 10:10 pm | In Life and Leisure, Family | No Comments

I’ve been at my desk a lot this past week. I can feel it in my back and shoulders. I need to find a new massage therapist, and I need to start looking sooner than later! I changed places I was going to, and haven’t booked a massage yet. I hold tension right in the middle of my back, and when I don’t get an occasional massage, it takes a lot for me to fully relax. Right now, I can feel it all the way up to my jawline. I think I’m going to prescribe staying far away from my desk this weekend. We’ll see if I can do it. I was working on some different projects, and really spent more time than I had planned on. Time to relax for awhile…

Getting Married?

August 31, 2007 on 12:58 am | In Life and Leisure, Web & Internet | No Comments

I have a friend who is getting married in the beginning of 2008, and she was looking for wedding favor ideas. She wants to do a tropical kind of theme, but doesn’t want the same one everyone else does. I was telling her about some of the great sites online to help you come up with new and creative ideas. I mentioned TheKnot.com and she hadn’t heard of it. They have shopping and articles, and information, and wedding planning. They are all things weddings! I thought the personalized hot sauce was cool, though not in her theme! They actually have everything from traditional things to unique favors. If you’re planning a wedding, you should check out TheKnot.com.

Rewriting the Details

August 31, 2007 on 12:49 am | In Life and Leisure, Web & Internet | No Comments

Did I ever tell you about when I worked at the cable company? When we first started doing installs for modems, a lot of people downloaded Zone Alarm. It’s a great product, I had it too. The problem was the firewall would kick in and block people’s modems in the beginning, because we were still learning we had to adjust it.

Anyway, when people would go to remove Zone Alarm, instead of just adjust the settings, the old software we were using and ZA’s stuff, things would rewrite in the registry! Oy, what a mess! It was one of those things we had to go through until we figured it out. Once the installers realized how to adjust it (remember this was new technology back then), it wasn’t a problem anymore! I just saw an ad for Zone Alarm (which by the way is good software), and it reminded me of that!

Make Rooms Online

Have you seen the software that lets you create homes or redecorate on your computer? I love that you can play with different aspects of your home before actually doing anything. We saw this one site when we were redoing our kitchen, and it let you build a 3-D model, complete with coloring. It was awesome, you could see the different contrast with different flooring. I’m not sure how they do it, but that is some of my favorite stuff to play with. Whenever my husband comes across another one, he tells me about it, and I’m like a little kid playing paper dolls only with rooms and furniture! LOL

Need Tickets?

August 31, 2007 on 12:42 am | In Life and Leisure, Web & Internet | No Comments

Remember how earlier I was talking about Sea World tickets? Another type of tickets we’ve been checking out lately is show tickets. I’m keeping my eyes open. With Garth Brooks putting out a new CD package in November, I’m hoping he’ll be touring again in the future. I’ve always said that if three people are putting on a show nearby, I want to be there. Those people are Wynonna, who I’ve seen multiple times, Elton John, again saw a couple times and Garth Brooks. I’ve never seen Garth yet, and I’d love to see him in concert.

If we get the chance, I’m going through PremiumSeatsUSA.com if they have something available. They offer good quality seats, and tickets that are hard to get. It doesn’t matter if you want concert tickets or Miami Heat tickets, they’ve got them! Bookmark the site so you have access to good seats too!

Magazine Thoughts

August 31, 2007 on 12:38 am | In Life and Leisure | No Comments

I got a thing in the mail today for Better Homes and Gardens. It’s funny because that’s one of the magazines I’ve never really gotten into. I guess I’ve been into the fashion, gossip and other women’s magazines more than the home type ones. Another thing I got in the mail today was an issue of a magazine that I thought my subscription had expired to awhile ago. Why I’m suddenly getting one in the mail again has me curious. Did they renew my subscription somehow? Are they sending me a new issue to retrigger my interest? Not sure…you know on the label how you can see the expiration date? Nothing there…it’s just my name…hmmmmm

Build Your Own Home?

August 31, 2007 on 12:36 am | In Life and Leisure | No Comments

Have you ever dreamed of building your own home? Every time I hear a story about someone building it from the ground up, it costs twice as much, and took twice as long as they had anticipated. One guy who lived on our street had a home built up in the Poconos, and he said it was overwhelming all the small nickel and dime things they charge you for that weren’t factored in. He ended up paying a lot more than was originally budgeted. I think I’ll buy a home that’s all ready built if I move!

Need to Find My Disney Travel Purse

August 31, 2007 on 12:17 am | In Life and Leisure | No Comments

Speaking of the purse I got at Northstyle, I actually got it for Disney last year! It was thin and had three separate zipper compartments, and was made to keep things organized and safe when you travel. Now, speaking of Disney, I need to find where I put the purse! I’m heading back in November. I have my travel arrangements made, and I think we’re set on most of our plans. The only thing I’m still up in the air about is if we’re going back to Sea World this time or not. I left a spare day so we can fit it in if we want. We really enjoy the park, but sometimes at the end of a trip, it’s nice to have a day to swim and unwind at the resort and stuff.

I just want to make my decision before then, so I can order my tickets. I want to order my SeaWorld Tickets at OrlandoFunTickets.com if I get tickets, since they have such great prices. They have tickets for all the parks and amusements, so if you’re heading to Florida, keep them in mind.
