OY! Time to Clean Out My Photo Files

May 31, 2007 on 8:55 pm | In Life and Leisure, Family, Web & Internet | No Comments

My files are getting bigger and bigger, and I need to clean through them! I try to do it about once a month, because I either take a lot of pictures or use different images with my blogs. The problem is they collect so quickly. I know a lot of my friends save their pictures for a really long time. Not me, I do spring cleaning through my folders every month or two, cleaning out files, old documents and pictures that I no longer need. When too many start gathering, I know it’s time. I just went sorting through my files to find something and it was crazy! I have way too many…

Secured Cards Can Help You Rebuild

May 31, 2007 on 8:48 pm | In Life and Leisure | No Comments

When I first came out of my divorce years ago, my credit was all but shot. I had to rebuild it, and one of the ways I did that was with a secured credit card. What I did was mail in a deposit of cash as collateral. As I regained a good payment history, I was able to help repair my faulty credit record. When no other bank or credit company would take a chance on me, a secured credit card company did. It gave me the opportunity to undo what I had done to my credit. The problem is, even if you don’t need to spend on a credit card, you need a credit card to reserve things like hotel rooms, rental cars and sometimes other things. If you’re not sure how to rebuild your credit, maybe starting with a secured credit card would help. At SecureCreditCards.in, you can find all the information you need on Secured Credit Card, as well as find information on rebuilding your credit and tips for finding secured credit cards. Check them out today, and take notice of their unique website address so you get there correctly. Either follow the link above or go to SecuredCreditCards.in. Notice it’s .IN at the end. Fixing the Time, Oops!

May 31, 2007 on 8:43 pm | In Life and Leisure, Web & Internet | No Comments

Okay, so I went into my options and finally figured out that I had to do a -4 to make my time correct. The problem is, it shifts all my posts! I’ll adjust the time before I leave on my road trip on Monday so it doesn’t mess with the things I’ve done today! It says it’s 8:40pm, but it’s really 4:40pm! I just tiried to shift one, and I thought I lost a post I wrote. I went looking for it, and that single post went to the new time! Rut-roh! I needed them all to be correct. That isn’t happening quite yet, so until then, it looks like I’ll be running a little ahead of schedule! LOL

Financial Field

May 31, 2007 on 8:28 pm | In Life and Leisure | No Comments

My husband does finance work, and with the hiring freeze at his one company, we didn’t expect him to be there when his contract expired. Things worked out and he ended up having his contract renewed, which we are grateful for, but in the process, I was looking at different recruiting companies and looking at different job placement groups for the finance field. One company I just learned about, which I’ll have to add to our list is Willis Consulting, Inc., at FinancialConsultantRecruiters.com. They are executive recruiters and work specifically with the finance industry. They were founded in 2000 and their clients include investment banks, insurance companies, brokers, banks and firms. I kid you not, 6 minutes after I posted that my laptop bag was due to arrive today, the UPS guy showed up! They are like clockwork. My mail comes around 11am, my deliveries around 4pm! I have to set my time on here, because it’s showing 8pm, and it’s 4pm on the East Coast! If I can figure out where to change it in the options, you’ll be seeing the correct time soon enough!

Parental Controls and Ratings

May 31, 2007 on 8:10 pm | In Life and Leisure, Family, Web & Internet | No Comments

If you’re a parent, you know that sometimes you can’t always be there watching over your child’s shoulder. When it comes to computers, I put our computers side by side. It’s not that I don’t trust my child, but sometimes things like pornography and junk and spyware finds it’s way to your child’s screen. Take some sites, that look innocent, and end up being pornography. Do a search on the White House and you’ll see what I mean. That’s where filtering steps in. It helps you maintain parental control based on settings you decide on. Over at FilterGuide.com you can see different ratings on different software for parental control from CyberSitter to NetNanny to others. FilterGuide.com is your one stop site for Internet Filter Software Reviews. This post was brought to you by FilterGuide.com.

Here’s my new Laptop Bag I’m waiting on today. It’s supposed to be delivered this afternoon! My UPS/FED-EX delivery guys usually get here somewhere around 4pm, so I’m hoping it’s here soon! I picked it up over at eBags.com and got a great deal on it. They were having a special 20% off deal for Memorial Day weekend, and then another 20% off! I ended up getting it for $31. It’s regurally $50, and this week is on sale for $39, but I got it for $31! Wheeeeeeeeeeee….I love when I get a good deal!

Star Wars Celebrates 30 Years

May 31, 2007 on 5:55 pm | In Life and Leisure | No Comments

The other night we were watching a special on the History channel about Star Wars. I can’t believe it’s been 30 years since it began. I remember being 10 years old and seeing it down at the beach. We were on a weekly vacation in Long Beach Island, and we were staying down the road from the movie theater. We walked over to see it, and I fell in love with R2D2. Who knew 30 years later there would be six episodes and it would have turned into a huge phenomenon. Seriously, 30 years have passed all ready?

What was neat on the special was they were talking about how things like history and religion were worked into the story line. They made comparisons to different things. I’m sure they’ll replay the show through out the month, and if you get the chance, it’s interesting watching.

Professional Carpet Cleaning Makes a Difference

May 31, 2007 on 3:59 pm | In Life and Leisure | No Comments

My sister is in the process of redoing her kitchen and turning the garage into an office. They took the garage door out and put windows in, dry walled it and will put wall to wall carpeting in when they are finished. When we redid our kitchen, we had to jackhammer our floor because we had a drainage issue. It was heartbreaking to have to tear up our kitchen floor and all the carpeting in the family room. The good thing that came out of the process was a new kitchen and new carpeting. Now that we have newer carpet in the family room, I’m not feeling so badly anymore! The only problem with the carpeting, is with dogs, pet odor can get in it. No matter how much you run the vacuum, it sets in deep.

That’s when you call a professional carpet cleaner. They make the difference! It’s important to get a fully licensed, bonded and insured company though. If you’re looking for a Los Angeles Carpet Cleaning company, I have just the company for you, USA Clean Master. You can check out their website at USACleanMaster.com. They are fabulous, and don’t just do carpet cleaning, they also do upholstery cleaning, and they even do wood floor refinishing and air duct cleaning! They are one company you can turn to for all your cleaning needs. The best part is they use products that don’t leave you with unpleasant odors when they’re done. If you’d like to learn more about them, visit their site or call 888-396-5195 today.
