We just had some excellent chicken tonight. My family likes when I use Shake N Bake on the chicken, but we use the original pork flavor variety. We didn’t have any in the house, so I opted for Italian Seasoned Bread Crumbs. There’s not a scrap of leftovers! Everyone adored it.
We have a sign on the front of our house near our front door that says, “And they lived happily ever after”. I love little extras on my home and in my yard that give it a personal feel. It’s not big and tacky, but it’s large enough that you notice it. I also have a bear carving holding a fish that says welcome on the front patio. What ornaments do you have on your lawn? Lately I’ve been looking at an Address Plaque and thinking it might be a nice way to dress up the front porch area a little bit. I think a new mailbox is in order as well. The one we have now, I repainted it last year, but it still doesn’t look as fresh as it could. I’ll be keeping my eyes out for just the right one that both the husband and I can agree on!
There’s been a discussion online on a board I belong to where they talk about having multiple blogs. There were varying opinions, and being someone who has multiple blogs, I obviously don’t have a problem with it. Each blog serves a purspose for me, and each blog has it’s own angle or direction it’s going. Some are more focused than others, like a business and technology blog at BizMark Tech, or a celebrity blog at Two Dog Zoo, while others are more general and regional based like my Surviving NJ.
We need to get a new entertainment center. The one we have is nice, but it’s starting to lean a little bit, and that makes me nervous. We’ve had it for awhile now, and it’s a very large piece, so we don’t want to take any chances. What I love to do is browse through furniture online. It’s so much more pleasant that going to the store, where they follow you around and make you feel stalked! Speaking of finding furniture online, I saw the cutest animal chairs by Powell furniture that were so whimsical. They came in a set of four. I think the giraffe was my favorite. I wonder why, says the girl who collects giraffes!
I passed a new store the other day that sells religious goods. I’ll have to keep it in mind for buying first communion gifts and the like. These days I do so much shopping online, I’d probably go to CatholicCompany.com first to check things out, but I like to know when new places open, in case I’m passing by. Did I tell you I met my husband online? There is a statistic out there now that says 1 out of every 8 people meet their partner online! It’s become a dating phenomenon. We’ve been talking about trading our car, and I think we’re almost ready to do it. We have multiple cars, so we wanted to make sure it made sense financially. What we want to do is call the insurance company and get a car insurance quote to see how much it would change our policy. Sometimes buying something like a sports car, or SUV or a car with multiple air bags can change what you’ll pay in the long run. Maybe what we’ll do is look at other insurance companies while we’re at it, and do some more comparison. We may end up saving more by switching companies as well. I’ll let you know if we go through with it.
